Joy Comes in the Morning

Hello Monday! 🙂

I just love Mondays. I always have. And even though I often work Saturdays, I still can’t wait for Monday to get here. 🙂 This Saturday was especially busy. We had a bridal party of 9 at the salon for hair and makeup! It was busy, but awesome. 🙂

I didn’t write a Friday Favorite post last week because it was a very busy week where I kept to a simple routine and didn’t try anything new or different. But I have been wanting to do this fun post for awhile! And since last week was so busy, it seemed like the perfect time to do it!

I’m always curious to see what other women carry around in their purses! I’m afraid I’m going to forget something important, so I try to carry a little bit of everything with me. I also don’t like to carry a huge purse, so I try and prioritize! 🙂

I didn’t clean out my purse at all last week, so I was a little surprised at what was in there. Let’s get started. 😉

1. The purse. I love this purse. I love this purse so much I bought it in two colors: black and taupe. It was exactly what I was looking for when I wanted a more grown up modern look. It is smaller than my purses in the past, but I still wanted a strap long enough to wear it across my body. Check! It has a zippered pocket inside and a loose pocket as well. I can fit my wallet AND an umbrella inside no problem. 🙂
2. The wallet. I love this wallet. It’s just the right size with enough compartments for my cards and change. I want one in every color. 🙂
3. An umbrella…cause you know, rain. I hate being without an umbrella. I panic thinking, “What if it rains??” So I’ve learned to check the weather when making plans. I also leave a couple umbrellas in my car just in case.
4. Hair items. Holy cow…so this is where all my bobby pins have been. Seriously though, I buy a pack of like 200 and they eventually all disappear. What is going on? I always keep a few rubber bands and bobby pins in my purse for myself or others. You never know. 🙂
5. Lip products. I have never really been into lip products, I’m much more of a blush girl, but I like to carry a tinted lip balm with me for easy application! I love this one from Burt’s Bees in the shade Red Dahlia. I love it because you don’t need a mirror to apply it. 🙂 I also have a few other options just in case I’m feeling adventurous. 😉
6. Mints. I use to really be into gum, but now I’ve switched to mints. I like to pop one into my mouth before I work on a client. Being inches away from someone’s face will cause you to think about things like your breath. Or maybe that’s just something I think about. Either way, fresh breath is a must! 🙂
7. Medicine. I was very sick recently and stocked up on cough drops. I love Luden’s because they taste great and work! I also like the Sucret’s Throat Lozenges because they numb your throat and help with coughing. A friend also gave me a few Doterra cough drops! They were yummy!
8. Deodorant. Because South. It has been unusually hot lately. Ugh. I have been carrying around a travel size natural deodorant for reapplication. I made the switch a couple of years ago to natural deodorant and I won’t ever go back to an antiperspirant. All the articles I’ve read about what the ingredients of antiperspirant do to our bodies and what they can potentially do, made me want to seek alternative options. A friend suggested Schmidt’s Natural and I love it! I think I love their scent options the most. My favorites are tea tree, lavender tips, coconut pineapple and rose and vanilla. I suggest buying the travel size 5 pack so you can pick your favorite scent! And you get a small one to put in your bag. 🙂
9. Food. Because I love it. It’s always a good idea to keep snacks handy. If I’m busy at work and I need a quick snack, I have it with me. One time we went out to eat with some friends and their kid needed a snack while we were waiting. I had an apple and some nuts in my purse! You never know. 🙂
10. Office stuff. Pens, note cards and my square allow me to make appointments and take payments anywhere! I like making lists, so I always am searching for pens and paper in my purse.
11. Hand stuff. Sanitizer, an essential oil rollerball and hand cream are must haves. Enough said. I love the Dionis goats milk hand cream in the scent Love. It really moisturizes and keeps them soft. I also love soft scented hand sanitizer. Bath & Body Works makes a few that aren’t too overpowering. I love the Aromatherapy Orange Ginger one. I recently tried the essential oil brand Plant Therapy and I’m impressed! I wanted an essential oil that I could take with me to reduce anxiety if I was feeling anxious or overwhelmed. I literally just put this in my bag last week and forgot it was in there!

So, there you go! This is what’s in my bag. Pretty much 24/7.
